Shipping policy

Getting an order to your door is part of the work. Here's what to expect along the way.

01 — Order Processing

Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday. Please allow 2–4 business days for processing, plus an additional 2–5 business days for standard ground delivery once your order ships.

Be sure to double-check your shipping address at checkout. The Modern Chemist isn't responsible for incomplete, incorrect, or undeliverable addresses. If your address can't receive USPS or UPS deliveries, please let us know before placing your order. Orders returned to us due to address issues may incur additional shipping charges, and original shipping costs are non-refundable in these cases.

02 — Shipping Options

We ship via USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground, whichever is the most cost-effective method for your order. Rates are calculated at checkout, and orders over $100 qualify for free standard shipping within the continental U.S.

Once your label is created, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking. Please allow up to one business day for tracking to activate.

Free economy shipping is typically routed via USPS Ground Advantage. Expedited shipping is available at checkout for an additional fee, and customers cover the full cost — even on orders over $100. Note that expedited service reduces delivery time but does not skip the 2–4 business day processing window.

03 — Lost or Delayed Packages

Once a package is handed off to the carrier, it's no longer within our control. If your order appears lost or delayed, please contact the carrier directly. We can't refund orders lost in transit or after confirmed delivery.

For added peace of mind, we recommend selecting shipping insurance at checkout — it speeds up resolution if anything goes missing along the way.

04 — Proof of Delivery

Orders valued over $250 require a signature upon delivery. Please plan accordingly.

05 — International Shipping

We don't currently offer international shipping.
